Forest School
We are so thrilled to be able to offer our children some fantastic outdoor learning opportunities through our Forest School lessons, led by the wonderful Mrs. Cooper and Miss Mickish.
At Lyneham Primary, we believe that Forest School has much to offer our learners in their physical and emotional development, acquisition of skills and knowledge, and experience of our natural environment. It provides opportunities to develop interpersonal skills such as cooperation and empathy; personal characteristics like creativity, confidence and independence; life skills including risk-taking, resilience and responsibility; and fine and gross motor skills. Knowledge gained will include areas such as nature identification, weather observation and uses of knots. Pupils will have opportunities to follow their own interests and share their experiences with other members of the school community.
Many of these experiences will have links with other subjects, or equip learners to succeed in areas of the curriculum other than Outdoor Learning and Forest School. The school values are integrated into Outdoor Learning and Forest School sessions.
