Art

We are incredibly lucky here at Lyneham Primary School to be able to offer our children fantastic art lessons as part of our Enrichment Curriculum. These lessons are led by Miss Barlow, whose artistic expertise and knowledge is second to none. 

We believe that art and design is a vital part of children’s education, with a significant and valuable role in the taught curriculum and the enrichment opportunities we offer our pupils. The art and design curriculum will develop children’s critical abilities, as well as an understanding of their own and others’ cultural heritages through the study of a diverse range of artists.

Children will develop their understanding of the principles of the visual language of art (rhythm, pattern, balance, visual movement, variety, emphasis, contrast, harmony, unity) with effective teaching and considered sequences of lessons and experiences.  Understanding of the elements of art and design (line, shape and form, colour, texture, space, value) will be developed by providing a curriculum which will enable children to reach their full potential.
