Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA)
At Lyneham Primary School, over 75% of our pupils are from families with parents serving in the armed forces. Many of our children might attend several primary schools at different stages of their education and may well also be subject to the pressures and challenges that having parents deployed to other parts of the world can bring.
Lots of our children however will attend Lyneham Primary School for their entire primary education and some of them will also deal with strong feelings when their friends move on to new schools and leave them behind.
To support all of our children with any emotional difficulty that they might have, we have two full-time ELSA's on hand at all times, Mrs Evans and Mrs Barlow. Teachers often refer children for ELSA support, but you can also come in and talk to us if you think that this is a service you think your child would benefit from.
